Apple’s new Beats Studio Buds have a fresh new look. Priced at $149.99 and available in red, black, or white, the Studio Buds have a much different, more compact design than the previous Powerbeats Pro. There are no ear hooks on them, and that gives them a very lightweight, comfortable fit. You can currently get them starting today in the US and Canada from Apple and other retailers like Amazon and Best Buy.
The Studio Buds include active noise cancellation, IPX4 water and sweat resistance, and can last for up to five hours on a charge. (If you leave noise cancellation off, they can eke out eight hours of continuous playback. They also use USB-C for charging — there’s no wireless charging, unfortunately — and either earbud can be used independently.
Whats definitely interesting is that Beats is supporting both iOS and Android features with the Studio Buds. On iPhone they feel comparable to the AirPods-like setup and Control Center integration. They can also do hands-free “Hey Siri” commands. On Android, Beats now works with Fast Pair and Google’s Find My Device features. Overall expectations are high for these new ear buds, and with a $150 price point they better deliver!
